About Diverse North Psychotherapy
Diverse North is a growing mental health practice providing evidence-based psychotherapy for individuals, youth, and families. Our practice was created to provide accessible, inclusive, and individualized care that recognizes the many ways people experience the world.
Our Approach
We believe therapy should be evidence-based, individualized, and meaningful. Our clinicians support clients through a collaborative approach that focuses on understanding yourself, building practical skills, and connecting with what matters most.
Clinical Director
In 2024, Kristen Brutto opened Diverse North Psychotherapy with the goal of providing evidence-based, inclusive, and individualized psychotherapy services.
Kristen holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Laurentian University, completed graduate training in Autism and Behavioural Science at Algonquin College, and earned a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
Before opening her private practice, Kristen worked as a Developmental and Behavioural Therapist, supporting children and youth in school settings while collaborating with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams. During this time, she also served for seven years as Director of the Rayside-Balfour Youth Action Network, leading initiatives that supported youth engagement and community connection.
In addition to her work in mental health, Kristen has a professional background in music. This experience has shaped her appreciation for creativity, communication, and self-expression, perspectives that continue to inform her work as a therapist.
